What we look for in an article. We consider for publication in JAEC manuscripts which report original high-quality research that adds significantly to the body of knowledge concerning engineering, computation, and science. They should be scientifically sound, of interest to the community, and are not under consideration for publication in peer-reviewed literature elsewhere.
Types of articles. JAEC publishes original papers, review papers, technical reports, case studies, conference reports, management reports, book reviews, notes, commentaries, and news.
Reviewing. Manuscripts are evaluated using a Single blind-reviewing process. JAEC selects reviewers carefully from the worldwide research community. Once a manuscript is received by the journal, it will be scanned by the editors and sent out to two reviewers. To determine whether a manuscript fits within JEAC' s scope of interest, consult recent issues for content. Write in a style that is clear and concise, and use references as necessary to document statements. Copies of speeches are rarely accepted unless they are rewritten for publication. Manuscripts are evaluated for acceptance through editorial review. The Editor in Chief is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of Manuscripts. The Editor’s decision is final.

Language. Please write your text in good English. The text must be written in good scientific English using Microsoft Word or LaTex. Latex is highly recommended for papers submitting to JAEC. Authors who feel their English language manuscript may require editing to eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors and to conform to correct scientific English may wish to use the English Language Editing service available from TDTU.
Use of inclusive language. Inclusive language acknowledges diversity, conveys respect to all people, is sensitive to differences, and promotes equal opportunities. Articles should make no assumptions about the beliefs or commitments of any reader, should contain nothing which might imply that one individual is superior to another on the grounds of race, sex, culture or any other characteristic, and should use inclusive language throughout. Authors should ensure that writing is free from bias, for instance by using 'he or she', 'his/her' instead of 'he' or 'his', and by making use of job titles that are free of stereotyping (e.g. 'chairperson' instead of 'chairman' and 'flight attendant' instead of 'stewardess').
A manuscript is typically structured in the following sequence:
- Article title, which has to be informative and succinct, full names of authors and their affiliations
- Abstract which describes in a concise way the scope, methods used, and main results of the study. Figure numbers, equation numbers, abbreviations should be avoided. The length of the abstract should normally be less than 150 words.
- Keywords (maximum 5)
- Methods and Materials
- Results and Discussion
- Summary and Conclusions
Citation in text: Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the endnotes (and vice versa). Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the endnotes but may be mentioned in the text. If these references are included in the reference list they should follow the standard reference style of the journal and should include a substitution of the publication date with either "Unpublished results" or "Personal communication" Citation of a reference as "In Press" implies that the item has been accepted for publication.
Web references: As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given. Web references should be included in the endnotes.
Data references: This journal encourages you to cite underlying or relevant datasets in your manuscript by citing them in your text and including a data reference in your Reference List. Data references should include the following elements: author name(s), dataset title, data repository, version (where available), year, and global persistent identifier. Add [dataset] immediately before the reference so we can properly identify it as a data reference. The [dataset] identifier will not appear in your published article.
References in a special issue: Please ensure that the words 'this issue' are added to any references in the list (and any citations in the text) to other articles in the same Special Issue.
Reference style. Citations in the text should follow the referencing style used by the American Psychological Association. You are referred to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Sixth Edition, 2010. Although there are no strict requirements on reference formatting at submission, accepted articles will be changed automatically into APA style but authors need to ensure the bibliography is consistent and correct, i.e. all papers mentioned in the text appear in the reference list and vice-versa.

Citation Service for Authors. Authors who feel their references which appear in the manuscript may require editing to eliminate errors and to conform to correct APA citation style may wish to use the Citation Service available from TDTU
Article submission. All manuscripts must be submitted via the electronic submission management system. Register, then click on the ‘Submit an article’ link on the journal homepage to be guided through the submission process.
Submission to this journal proceeds totally online and you will be guided stepwise through the creation and uploading of your files. You may choose to submit your manuscript as a single file to be used in the refereeing process. This can be a LaTex file or a Word document, in any format or layout that can be used by referees to evaluate your manuscript. It should contain high enough quality figures for refereeing. If you prefer to do so, you may still provide all or some of the source files at the initial submission. Please note that individual figure files larger than 10 MB must be uploaded separately.
Ensure that the following items are present:

• All tables (including titles, description, footnotes)
• Ensure all figure and table citations in the text match the files provided

• The manuscript has been 'spell-checked' and 'grammar-checked'
• All references mentioned in the Reference List are cited in the text, and vice versa
• Permission has been obtained for use of copyrighted material from other sources (including the Internet)
• A competing interests statement is provided, even if the authors have no competing interests to declare
• Journal policies detailed in this guide have been reviewed
• Referee suggestions and contact details provided, based on journal requirements
Submission declaration and verification. Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously (except in the form of an abstract, a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere, that its publication is approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, including electronically without the written consent of the copyright holder. To verify originality, your article may be checked by TDTU originality detection service.
Article revision and resubmission. Once submitted, the manuscript is allotted to two competent reviewers who assess the content of the work. Reviewers may suggest changes, which are forwarded to the authors via email or can be downloaded from the corresponding author’s account. The authors should make a point-by-point response to the referee comments. Revised manuscripts are resubmitted via the ‘Submit a revised article’ link on the journal homepage.
After acceptance. The proof will be sent to you via email. The authors should check the proof carefully and return corrections in a timely manner.
Copyright transfer. After submitting the manuscript, you will be asked to electronically send to JAEC a filled-in copyright transfer form via the electronic submission management system. By transferring the copyright to JAEC, you grant Ton Duc Thang University permission to publish the manuscript and distribute the article electronically or in any other form to different databases and abstracting services including libraries, universities and anywhere else. When there is more than one author, it is understood that the submitting author has obtained agreement on the copyright transfer of all the other authors.
Changes to authorship. Authors are expected to consider carefully the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide the definitive list of authors at the time of the original submission. Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list should be made only before the manuscript has been accepted and only if approved by the journal Editor. To request such a change, the Editor must receive the following from the corresponding author: (a) the reason for the change in author list and (b) written confirmation (e-mail, letter) from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement. In the case of addition or removal of authors, this includes confirmation from the author being added or removed.
Only in exceptional circumstances will the Editor consider the addition, deletion or rearrangement of authors after the manuscript has been accepted. While the Editor considers the request, the publication of the manuscript will be suspended. If the manuscript has already been published in an online issue, any requests approved by the Editor will result in a corrigendum.
JAEC selects reviewers carefully from the worldwide research community. Once a manuscript is received by the journal, it will be scanned by the editors and sent out to two reviewers.
Reviewers’ identities are not disclosed to the authors. Results and ideas obtained during the reviewing process are confidential and must not be used for competitive advantage.
Reviewers judge the manuscript based on the novelty and significance of the obtained results, scientific rigor of the calculations made, adequateness of references, organization, and clarity of the text, quality of English, etc. Personal criticism should be avoided. They should check whether any plagiarism exists and whether there are previously published results relevant to the research in the manuscript but are not cited. A referee report is normally concluded with an explicit recommendation of one of the following options: accept, accept after minor changes, accept after major changes, or reject.
Reviewers are expected to produce a report within three or four weeks after receiving the manuscript. JAEC strives to balance between the need for expeditious processing and the high quality of the published articles.
If the recommendations of the referees don’t agree, the final decision rests with the editors.

The author role is automatically picked as one of the default roles during your account register; however, if you accidentally uncheck it by mistake, you will not be able to submit an article.
If that is the case, you can activate it via your profile page. Please navigate to your user profile page by clicking [this link], move down to near the bottom to the “Roles” section, pick author role, then return to user home page. You should be able to submit your article now.
How do I submit an article for publication?
Please submit your article online. Electronic submission substantially reduces the editorial processing and reviewing times and shortens overall publication times. In order to submit your paper, please login and navigate to the author page. If you do not have an account, please consider registering one. Note that during registering, author role must be picked.

Is there any cost for submitting articles?
TDTU is pleased to fund all publishing fees for the journal; as a result, authors do not have to pay any fees although their published papers are open to the reader.

JAEC currently provides the online version only. Therefore, you will receive a free electronic offprint (PDF-format) for your article for your personal use.
